Only 13% of employees give their organisation top marks for internal communications.
So, what’s missing? Given the amount of change we’ve faced in recent years – a dynamic political sphere, shifts in leadership, changing job roles and advancing AI conversations – it’s unsurprising that employees are feeling tired of distant leadership and vague messages. They want, and need, real conversations that meet them where they’re at.
To better understand their needs, we surveyed almost 5,000 UK employees to gather their views on all things from change, AI and trust to leaders, authenticity and activism. The resulting IC Index 2025, produced in partnership with the IoIC, is rich with data, insights and real-world implications that highlight the need for empathetic, honest and clear communication. In other words: the human touch.
“It’s a pleasure to be collaborating with the IoIC for our third year. The findings of our 2025 report really serve to highlight the critical role IC professionals play in dialling up authenticity and humanity – both of which have never been so vital in our workplaces.” – Louise Breed, Chief Executive, Ipsos Karian and Box.
